DIY MIttens

Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all of our Mom's out there across the miles (and to our Grandmom's,Aunt's and Dad's who are Mom's too). I've been Mom and Dad for 19 years so I know what the job entails. It isn't always easy and it can be rough at times but one thing for sure it is the best job in the world! Enjoy your special day!!

This craft is for the bigger kids and Moms. I found this idea on Pinterest and love this idea. It's a great way to use sweaters that have gown too small or maybe out of style. I'm really excited to try it and wanted to share it here on my blog so others could try it as well. 

There's no instructions but as you can see it's pretty self explanatory. I think you could probably line the gloves with some type of fleece or lambswool to make them extra warm. I think it would be cute too if there was a little strap across the wrist where you could make it tighter if need be.

Anyways, I think this is just a really adorable idea and it's a great way to recycle!

Recycled Magnets and One Direction

My daughter loves One Direction and all those fan items are so darn expensive. So as a single Mom, I am always looking for ways to make things and save money. I had a bunch of these large over sized magnets on my fridge advertising anything from corn dogs to insurance so I went to the dollar store and bought some photo paper and made some new magnets  recycling the old ones.


Here's what you will need:

• Photo Paper (As I said I bought mine for a $1.00 from the dollar store and I always grab a few to keep on hand for projects)
• Craft Glue (Something good like Alleene's tacky glue---it's about $2 at Walmart for the small one)
• Old magnets from your fridge
• Scissors
• Computer (Go online and choose the photo you want for your magnet and print it or print from your folder on your computer

Have fun with it. Make them for yourself. Give them to your friends for gifts. Just have a good time!!
